How can I bring the personality of lucha libre to L.A.B. Golf while keeping the headcover elevated and sporty?

For L.A.B. Golf's 2027 Cinco de Mayo launch, I designed a headcover.

Most Cinco de Mayo golf products fall into two categories: slap a margarita on it or cover it in traditional patterns. Neither of these directions feel true to L.A.B.

As I was learning about the holiday, I found myself digging back into my camera roll to find photos of Portland's Cinco de Mayo festival. My favorite part of the festival was the lucha libre wrestling. I couldn't tell you who won, but I could tell you all about their costumes.

This memory sent me down a rabbit hole.

I learned that even though luchadores are often depicted as a gimmick, the essence of lucha is cool, edgy, and mysterious.

Lucha represents a battle between good and evil. That eternal conflict shapes every stitch, color choice, and motif of the gear.
